Air Tour of France - Chart
Helen and I made a circuit around France in 14 days to test out the touring format of bicycles with plane and to visit some wine regions that we wanted to understand better. We researched destinations, asked some advice from flying forums and did a reasonable amount of flight planning ahead of time on this occasion (non of which went according to plan, of course).
This is what was actually did - click on the chart for a larger version. Forecast of bad weather at the end of the trip forced a decision to fly straight back to London rather than continue up the west cost as we needed to ensure that the plane was returned for the other syndicate members.

Cost breakdown for the trip is shown below. Camping, cooking ourselves and cycling was combined with meals out, car hire and hotels as appropriate for the location. We brought the trip in £4 under budget and spent a fair bit of time discussing the elements that worked well and represented good value for future reference.
